Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Consulting A Neurologist Advisable For Weakness And Imbalance In The Legs?
I have fallen a few times over the past two months and when it has happened it feels like my legs give out. I cannot stop myself. I am in a physical therapy program to strengthen my quads, Andy ability to raise myself from a seated position, but the therapist thinks I would be served by seeing a neurologist and having a study done. What would he be looking for? I am 77, walk everyday about 2 miles, I fairly good health.Thank you.
Physical therapists have extensive training in the musculoskeletal aspects of the body and so I would put that question specifically to him as he likely has something in mind. Unfortunately, without being able to evaluate you, I can't say specifically what he has in mind.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
