General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The effect of alcohol depends upon the genetic factors, type of beverage, amount of consumption, metabolic factors, drinking pattern, and others. There are now emerging documentations regarding mild to moderate consumption of alcohol favorable in cases of cardiac patients by increase in high density lipoprotein cholesterol, fibrinolysis, increase plasma natriuretic peptide, improve insulin sensitivity, improve endothelial function, affect platelet aggregation, and others. So, I favor you to consume safely alcohol in minimal quantities in day’s interval.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
