Is Consuming Alcohol Safe While Treating Myopericarditis?
Hi, about 2 and a half weeks ago I had chest pains and the resolution was myo pericarditis, I have taken a course of tablets that reduce the inflammation in the sack of my heart, I am not on my 3 day without taking my medication, as I finished the course of medication, and I have no pains at all, my question is would I be able to consume alcohol?
We usually do not recommend to take alcohol when diagnosed with myopericarditis. Alcohol itself is a contributing factor to myocarditis and pericarditis. So, now you decide.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
