Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Consumption Of Stagnant Algae Water By A 2-year-old A Cause For Concern?
Hi.My 2 yr old son has just drunk stagnant water with greenish algae growing in it. The water s been in there for weeks (children s water-play table). Is there anything I should do? He drank about 3 small cups of it, so says my 5yr old daughter. Your advice would be much appreciated.
If a similar patient comes to my OPD, I would suggest you to have an eye on your kid whether he's developing any symptoms of loose motion or stomach pain or any uneasiness. Only if he develops anything, you need to worry.
Kindly make sure that he understands consuming such water can cause serious health issue. Talk to him in a good way and make him realize that he never repeats it. Parenting is an art which requires so much of patience.
I hope you understand. For any further queries kindly contact us.
Regards,
