Is Contact With Infant Advisable While Treating Chigger Bites With Hydrocortisone Cream?

My husband has bad chigger bites from work and is using hydrocortisone cream and calamine lotion to relieve the irritation and itch! He has not made contact with out 3 week old baby because we are worried these meds will harm her, as he has these creams covering his waste up! Can he still interact with her or are we doing right keeping her away from him?
