Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Continued Slightly Elevated Body Temperature Concerning?
My normal temperature is right around 97.4 degrees F. For the past week, I have had a temperature between 98.8 degrees F and 99.3 degrees F. Considering that my normal temp is lower than the average, does this mean that the temperatures I have been experiencing this past week are indeed fevers?
The body temperature can vary within the range you are describing. Even if your average temperature is 97.4, these levels would not be considered to be a fever. If you are otherwise feeling well, you have no reason to be concerned. The level is not considered to be a fever until it's over 99.4 and this would be very mild. If you are having other symptoms, you might want to see your doctor. Otherwise, don't worry. Hope this answers your query. If you have further questions, I would be happy to answer them.
