Is Cool Water Wash Advisable For Burning Sensation On Lip?
My son in law cooked an eff in the microwave and then made a sandwich from it, As soon as he took a bite, he said the yolk exploded into his face and burned his lip. The first layer on the corner of his lip is peeling off, and he said his lip is numb. Is cool water going to be enough to stop the burning, or should there be something more he can do?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that he has got thermal burn on the lip leading to peeling of the top layer of lip.. The numbness is due to inflammation in the area of burn as well as Inflammation and burning of the nerve endings.. I would suggest that he should frequently do cool compresses over the lip.. He can also apply Steroid ointment over the area to reduce inflammation.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
