Is Coughing In Children After Having Candy A Serious Cause For Concern?

If a child woke up in his car seat coughing after a nap and the possibility of a tiny candy cane piece was in his mouth when he fell asleep. Could he have aspirated it? Coughed for 2-3 seconds hard then he was okay. One hour later still okay. No coughing, no trouble breathing. Completely fine, but could problems show up hours/days from now?

might have aspiration , but it has been coughed out. now nothing will happen. but when it is possible you can get your child examined by paediatrician, and auscultation done. if every thing is ok then forget. but take care in future.
