Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Cramps In The Left Foot When Diagnosed With COPD A Concern?
I had my mitral valve replaced 3 years ago. I am a diabetic. Two years ago I had compartment syndrome in my left leg and had emergency surgery. I am on coumadin the rest of my life. I also have COPD. For the past few days my left foot and left hand has been getting cramps in them. I am no dehydrated. Could this be serious?
I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam. It could be a small stroke. Some blood lab tests (complete blood count, uric acid levels, blood electrolytes) are necessary to be done. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
