Is Daily Meloxicam Intake For Treating Arthritis-related Knee Pain Safe?

My doctor recently put me on Meloxicam (15mg) for knee pain (arthritis). I have been taking daily for about a month now and my knee feels great. Is this drug safe to take every day or should I start lowering my usage? The only other daily drug I take is Lisinipril and a baby aspirin daily. Just worried that this might cause an ulcer or something????

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The dose would need to lowered if you are going to be using it long term.

The persistent use of any of these NSAIDS is associated with a risk of heart disease in the long term.
Intermittent use is preferred.

Physiotherapy can be added to help aid in pain relief

I hope this helps
