Is Dark Brown Blood During Menstruation A Premenopausal Symptom?
I notice there's some changes of the colour of my monthly period. It used to be red and some times had blood clot. But recently the colour change to dark brown. It is simpton of early menopause? My period also not regular - like 2 times in a monthly for a few times. I'm 50 years.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Yes changing of colour & quantity of menstrual bleeding & irregularity of menstrual cycle (twice a month) should be a premenopausal symptom. You are also 50 years old which is average time of onset of menopause. However a woman cannot be labelled as having menopause untill she has not had any vaginal bleeding for a year. There is nothing to be concerned about perimenopausal symptoms. It is a normal physiologic change and therefore it does not automatically require any kind of medical treatment. However a woman may feel variety of symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, difficulty sleeping, vaginal dryness or atrophy, incontinence, etc which are normally related to change in oestrogen production.
Refer to your gynaecologist, for further queries Hope this information helps
