Is Dark Brown Discharge A Symptoms Of A Vaginal Infection ?
hello,drs,,i ve experience vaginal discharge looks like dark brown in color,,,and sometimes,,,with fresh blood in my vaginal discharge,,,,i noticed it for two months ago,,,,, this happens two weeks after my monthly period,,,is this normal???/help me,,, i am so worried thinking of it,,, i only have 3 day of normal period,, and having two to three days small amount of blood after 3 days,,,,what does it mean,,,,,,thank you,,, your help is really, highly appreciated

That means you are having some vaginal infection
1. in candidiasis thick, white, cottage cheese discharge is there.
2. in trichomoniasis copious, green, frothy discharge is there.
3. in Gonorrhoea creamy white or yellow, odourless discharge is there.
4. in chlamydia it is purulent and malodorous discharge.
5. in bacterial vaginosis grey or green, fishy odour is there in discharge.

Vaginal discharge is normal and varies during menstrual cycles.This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle.Brown discharge after period is not always a cause of concern as late period can also lead to brown, dark red and/or dark brown discharge during and after period. Remnants of the older uterine tissues can lead to brown discharge, which we can also call as cleaning process of the uterus, by letting out the older tissues for newer ones. I would advise you to get this checked from a gynecologist to rule out any other condition. Also if you have pain, smelly discharge and itching you will require treatment right away. Take care
