Is Delay In Menstrual Bleeding A Sign Of Pregnancy?
I have taken a beta hcg blood test and it came back with a 1.20 result, I took the blood test 15 days after ovulation & 3 and half weeks after sex. I took 2 pregnancy tests and both we re negative. But I m already 4 days late with my period. Why is that? Am I pregnant?
Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.
A delay in menstrual period is commonly a sign of pregnancy if you had unprotected sex, was not on regular CP & had not taken emergency CP within 72 hours of sexual intercourse, you may be pregnant.
Blood tests for HCG can detect pregnancy 8 days after ovulation. However if you are getting a negative pregnancy test & have not yet got your periods then you should get clinically examined by a gynae.
You may have to get a USG done. If you are not pregnant you will be treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Take care. Regards, Dr Nupur K
