Is Delaying An Active BC Pill For 13 Hours A Concern?

Hi, This is the first time in 10 years of taking birth control that this has happened but I took my pill approx. 13hrs late. It is the day 6 pill in the first week of a 28-day pill packet (Ovima brand). With this much delay in time, have I created any complications to my cycle? If so, what precautions do uI need to take for the rest of my cycle to prevent pregnancy?

Hello,

Nothing will happen in case you miss a birth control pill for few hours. No alternate contraception or back up is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
