is diabetes type II curable with out medicine? Is it self curing? I know a friend who is diabetic for the last 10 years. he used to take metformin, glyclazide etc. but the blood glucose level was increasing after a short period of decrease. he used to increase the dosage ( certainly as per the advice of physicians), after a small duration again blood glucose was increasing. The FBS boosted to 400. At that time he stopped all medicines. again the FBS increased. when it has reached 455, it stopped going up and slowly it started coming down. now after 1 year without medicine it has come down to 250. is there an explanation for this?
Hello thanx for using hcm
Type 2 diabetes can be well controlled by diet and exercise but cannot be cured totally. sugar fluctuates when you dont take food on time and also by quantity and type of carbohydrate your consume.
Consult a diabetologist and evaluate your sugars by doing FBS, PPBS, HBA1C.
Follow certain things :
Consume small Meals rather than three big meals following the right portion of carbohydrates. Avoid refined cereals , starches, juices, sweetened drinks ,sweets.
Always choose whole grains.
Always include a protein source in your meal.
Eat plenty of vegetables and maximum of 2 servings of full fruit in a day.
Do regular exercise for 30 min daily.
