Is Diagnosis Of Long QT Syndrome Possible When Stress Tests Are Normal?
I ve had a normal event monitor, normal stress test and mostly normal EKGs. A couple had a QTc of 466. I m a 42 yr old woman and my sister just passed at 47 from SCA. I am awaiting genetic testing for long QT syndrome. My sister never had any heart issues but did show long QTc of 490 last year. However she was on Abilify for bipolar among other prescriptions) how common is to have long qtc syndrome after having normal results from event monitor and stress test ?
I can understand your anxiety about having QTc prolongation but your ECG came to be normal except a couple increase in QT of 466. 466 is not abnormal for females. ECG is the main test to determine QT syndrome. So mostly your genetic testing may come negative for QTc prolongation. Abilify doesn't cause QTc prolongation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
