Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mother aged 71 is suffering from abdominal pain. ON MR study it was observed that she had a block in bile tube with no associated symptom of jaundice. ERCP was done and today doctor has advised to undergo dialysis as urine output is low. SHe is not diabetic. IS the dialysis would be only for treatment or is indicative of kidney failure?
After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that low urine output with raised creatinine level can be because of acute kidneyinjury, and dialysis is a part of treatment in kidney failure and can be temporary or permanent.
Hopefully this information will guide you properly.
Kind Regards Dr. Bhanu Partap
