Hi, I was wondering if diahrea is possibly considered one of the downfalls or symptoms of going thru menopause? It seemed to escalate and is almost always present since my menopause has kicked in full swing? Its been a good 4years. the past 4 to 6 months the hot flashes are finally tapering down but still happening . Angi OceansideCA nevermind, I don t have any money, didn t know it was going to cost anything. Im no income right now (Im sorry..):(
Menopause can be associated with a variety of symptoms but it is not usually associated with diarrhea.
Diarrhea that lasts for more than 4 weeks is called chronic diarrhea.
There are different possible causes such as: (1) infection - not likely to persist for 4 years (2)inflammatory bowel disease eg crohns disease or ulcerative colitis (3)side effect of medication (4)food intolerance (5)irritable bowel syndrome (6)hormonal conditions such as high level of thyroid hormone- can be checked with a blood test
I hope this helps
