Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Difficulty In Standing After A Lower Back Strain Normal?
I strained my lower back four days ago. It has improved somewhat, but I still have modest difficulty/pain getting out of a seated position after some time. Is this normal? How long until I see marked improvement? Should I resume light physical activity now, or be checked by my physician? I do not have constant pain, though I do have discomfort.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is perfectly normal. As long as it gets better gradually, you're fine. No need to see a doctor, you could try over-the-counter analgesics such as aspirin for the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
