Hello doctor,I am 23 weeks pregnant and i have been feeling serious heartburn for lat 7 days. I take Digene once a day..as I am not working so i sleep during day. I take chilled milk in the morning and then have heavy breakfast. I always eat in intervals. But now taking digene once a day is not helping me out. Can i take it twice a day (I have tablets and i am in USA so i cant get digene Gel here). What can i do to avoid bad acidity

Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. You can take digene 3-4 times a day. No problem. 2. Due to increased abdominal pressure in pregnancy, risk of acidity is more. Avoid lying down immediately after food. Take cold milk to reduce acidity. Also you need to avoid spicy or sour foods. 3. Also you can take H2 blockers like ranitidine to reduce acidity. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
