Is Discontinuing Vancomycin Advisable When Diagnosed With C. Difficile Infection?

I was diagnosed with c-diff, but the diarrehea is now gone and my bowels are normal. The medicine the doctor prescribed is $2,000, which I do not have. I feel good, no fever, am taking lots of probiotics and immune boosting medicines, but I don t know what will happen if I don t take the vanomycin (?). Can c-diff hurt my kidneys or liver

Hi,
Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-:
1)Complete vancomycin course with metronidazole for 14 day time only
2)Take probiotics (Lactobacillus)for 7 days time
3)DO FMT(Fecal Microbiota Transplantation)which will prevent further relapse.
