Is it possible to feel lightheadness that could be a first symptom of menopause. I ve not had any. I am 54 years old. I still have my period; though I went 5-6 months without one. This month is a few days late. I don t have high BP. I have had Graves Disease that has been in remission for 4years. I feel a little like those symptoms again, lightheaded & anxious. What are your thoughts? I will be calico my Physician to tomorrow. Thank you, marl
Dizziness is not a symptom which cannot be directly related to menopause.
Some of possible causes of dizziness include:
1. sudden drop in blood pressure
2. decrease in blood volume
3. anxiety disorders
4. anemia (low iron content in blood)
5. hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
6. labyrinthitis.
Hence, you need to be examined clinically and find out what could be the underlying cause.
You need to consult Physician for proper clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
General & Family Physician
