Is Doctor Consultation Advisable For A Metallic Taste In The Mouth?

I am on pravastatin for about 2 months. Had blood work and it seems to be lowering my ldl. But this week I have had a metallic taste in my mouth, my stomach feels like it is full of lemon juice and I am shaky. Should I call my doctor? I am 72 and in generally good health normally, but his has been a couple of days now.

Hi..
Thanks for the query.

Your symptoms are sounding towards hyperacidity causing acid reflux..

So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..

If it is due to acid reflux then you can be advised antacids like Milk of magnesia and proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole..
Along with it eat plenty of probiotics like Yogurt..
Take light meals and do walk after meals..
Do moderate workout daily as it will also help in lowering Cholesterol..
Avoid spicy foods and drink plenty of water..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
