Is Doctor Consultation Advisable For An Oozing Wound On The Elbow?

Hi I m lori, when walking dog this morning a dog escaped from yard and started to attack my dog no one got bit I tried to run and fell my elbow is badly scraped although I had a long sleeve shirt on and heavy winter coat. H Got home cleaned area with hydrogen peroxide applied neosporin and bandage. It s oozing. They wanted me to go by ambulance to hopspital which I didn t think was necessary. A big chunk of skin was affected. Do you think I need to be seen.

Hello,

As you elbow joint injury, can I come to know whether there is any swelling or not? Movements at your elbow joints are normal?

It is a deep lacerated wound or just abrasion. If it is lacerated wound then we have to suture it. I will suggest you to review back here with detailed history or consult with your family physician.

I will advise you to take tablet Ciplox, tablet Dolo and Injection TT after consultation. Do dressing on alternate day.
