Hello,
Yes, you should see a doctor again. If the bleeding is severe and is not stopping or if she is giddy, then take her to the Emergency Room (ER). The cause of the bleed needs to be diagnosed and treated.
I recommend:
- An ENT consult
- Blood tests (
complete blood count, clotting profile, liver function tests)
- A
CT scan or an MRI of the face and
sinuses. Brain as well if necessary
- An
endoscopy if required
- Pinch at the bridge of the nose and apply ice to control the bleed
Make her lie down with head tilted slightly backward. She should avoid swallowing a blood that comes into her throat and spit it out. This helps avoid
gastritis. Based on these we can find the cause of bleed.
As she is bleeding more now, anemia needs to be checked and treated too. She should avoid putting fingers in her nose. If the atmosphere is dry, give her more water (warm) and use humidifier at home.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
