Is Droxyl Safe To Take During Pregnancy For Pain In Throat?
I am 8 months pregnant and having continuous pain in throat for last 7 days, doctor has prescribed me droxyl 500 for my throat. I want to ask is it safe to take droxyl 500 during this time of pregnancy,if so are there any side effects of the medicine on the baby.pl advice.
It is the best practice to avoid any kind of drug during any period of pregnancy even though it is safe, as much possible as can.
Droxyl contains cefadroxil which can be considered quite safe in pregnancy.
Further more as you are in 8th month of pregnancy, the most vulnerable period in which many of the drugs may cause the deteriorative effects on the fetus ( whcih last for 1st trimester i.e. first three months of pregnancy during which organ formation takes place ) has already been lapsed.
So many drugs can not produce harm at such stage of pregnacy including droxil. So you can consider the intake of droxil .
BUt my opinion is that the azithromycine 500 mg would be better choice than the cefadroxil as it is safer than cefadroxil.
Further more you can also try some home remidies such as milk with the 1 tea spoon of turmuric in it & hot water gargling which may sooth your throat and can minimise the need for antibiotic ingestion.
