Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe throat irritation and cough which is because of infection which travel down respiratory track and affected whole area leading to granular pharyngitis.
I would suggest you to
- Do warm saline gargles on daily basis 3-4 times a day.
- Take cough expectorants containing mucinex for instant relief.
- Avoid cold carbonated beverages and smoking if you do.
- Take chicken soup along with along with lemon tea.
I would suggest you to again consult your ENT specialist for proper examination and go for blood test along with throat swab test and doctor may prescribe further antibiotic course along with anti inflammatory medications.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
