Is Drug Efudix Effective In Treating Cancerous Spots On Face?

I am curantly using the drug efudix on my face for some pre-cancerous spots. 1) how long is the medication actively working on the skin? 2) if I touch my face and touch another place on my body - or someone else will I cause harm? 3) if I hug someone and my cheek brushes their face will I cause them harm?

Hi,

The length of time that Efudix (fluorouracil) is actively working on the skin depends on the extent and severity of the pre-cancerous spots being treated. Typically, treatment with Efudix is done for a period of two to six weeks, with visible effects seen within the first week. However, it is important to follow the specific treatment plan recommended by your healthcare provider.

If you touch your face and then touch another part of your body, you may spread the medication to other areas, causing unwanted effects. It is important to wash your hands thoroughly after applying the medication and to avoid touching the treated area as much as possible. If your cheek brushes against someone else's face, there is a risk that the medication may be transferred to their skin, potentially causing unwanted effects. It is important to avoid close contact with others while using Efudix and to follow any specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider.

Efudix is a topical chemotherapy medication that is effective in treating pre-cancerous and cancerous spots on the skin. It works by interfering with the growth and replication of abnormal cells, ultimately causing them to die off. However, it is important to follow the specific treatment plan recommended by your healthcare provider and to discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding the use of this medication.
