Is Dry Mouth And Brown Color Of Teeth Caused By The Side Effects Of Taking Penicillin Vk 500 Mg?
I am on long term penicillin vk 500 mg 3 times per day to treat bacterial skin infection. I have been on this dosage for two months now. I have been experiencing dry mouth and noticed by teeth are beginning to turn brown. Is it linked to the medication?

Hello,
Penicillin will not cause any brown discolouration on tooth.
Dry mouth usually occur due to decreased salivary flow.
Discontinue the habit of tobacco or pan chewing if you practise any.
Get a thorough scaling done by a dentist.
Salivary substitutes has to be administered if necessary.
