Is Eating Disorder In Child Due To The Side Effect Of Taking Suprax Medicine??

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has Vesicoureteral reflux and recently had a urinary tract infection. She was prescribed Suprax last Wednesday and we were told for her to use it for 10 days. Everything has been going okay for the most part except she never wants to go to the bathroom (we have to tell her each time that it will make her feel better). However, over the last few days she has refused to eat or drink anything at all and is incredibly irritable. Any little thing will set her off, but especially regarding food or drink. We're unsure if this is just a side effect of the medication or if we should be more concerned. Please help!

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Refusal of feeds in child with known case of vesicoureteral reflux, it is important to consider the possibility of Urine sepsis as the cause.
I would suggest you to get Urine examination and Ultrasound abdomen in consultation with your physician for further evaluation.

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
