Is Echocardiogram Advisable For An Infant With Heart Murmur?
My granddtr has been seen by a paediatrician who says she has a hrt murmer. Her mother, my dtr, has ostium primum and a cleft mitral valve. They local dr. in the community does not hear a murmer. The baby is 50% for wt and often below the chart for wt. They live in a far north community and have to travel quite a distance for an echocardiogram and are considering not having it done. I feel the baby should be tested so they at least know what is going on. Your advice please

For valvular diseases echocardigraphy is diagnostic it is must for the baby toconclude so that proper management is sstarted
