Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Ejection Fraction Value Of 42% A Cause For Concern?
We live in Hyderabad. My father is suffering from breathong issues and 2d echo reports show EF as 42%, so doctor suggested to go for Angiogram. His age is around 58 years and does not have BP and Sugar, however sometimes BP goes high about 135. Which type of angiogram should we prefer between traditional coronary angiogram and CT angiogram? Does 42% EF indicates danger level of heart problems?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the suspected cardiac disease and if the possibility of coronary need to be ruled out then angiography is the option, but for ejection fraction ECHO is the best option, if ischemia is suspected then angiography is the best option, hope this information concern helps.
