Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is there a cure for elefanttis..because I was told if I get a surgery that it will grow again. But that doctor could not do nothing for me. so they send me with a other specialized and they are going to do all the paperwork again.and I m so tired of this because my balls are just growing and growing more day by bay.
Hello This is a very difficult to say "IS THERE TREATMENT FOR ELEPHANTIASIS OR NOT???" Now a day better treatment option is available and better diagnostic technique e.g. ultrasound , lymphoscitigraphy, circulating filarial antigen assays, PCR . While treatment based on block of lymph nodes , if one or two and very close to each other surgery is an option . While diethylcarbamazine is still drug of choice but albendazole 400 mg twice in day for 21 days is another treatment . In my opinion consult a hospital where treatment for communicable disease available . Hope this will be useful for you.
