Is Elevated ESR Level Related To Hand And Finger Swelling ?
My ESR level shoots up high from 7 (in Nov., 2016 to 43 ( yesterday). My hand and fingers swollen stays for 1 week. On Jan. 9 th my wrist was in horrible pain for the first time. My dr gave me Prednose and antibiotics for 1 week. Prednisone I took for 3 days. Does high ESR causes my hand and fingers swollen? Are u still there? I am 72 and workalochic. I never drink alcohol.

hi...high ESR indicates there is some kind of inflammatory process is going on in the body...your hand swelling could be due to infection like cellulitis...or it could be some inflammatory disease like rheumatoid arthritis...please go and check with your physician...Thank you
