Is Epididymis Of Left Testicle Being Bigger Than The Right One A Cause For Concern?
Question: I m 20, and this has bothered me off and on. When I self examine myself I always notice that my left testicle s epididymis is always big like its Dowden. Naturally my left testicle is bigger and lower, but the epididymis makes it even larger. It s lumpy but it s all soft. I keep an eye on it and it never changes....i don t think it s growing or shrinking. It s confusing though so I might want to get it checked just Incase. Any suggestions for me? Is this normal or should I definitely see a doctor?
In humans, one testicle is usually bigger than the other. In most of the individuals, the right testicle is slightly larger than the left while the left one is slightly lower than the right. Epididymis is the duct from the back of the testes that collects and stores the sperms before it transfer it to the vas deferens.
Vas deferens transport the sperm to the ejaculatory duct. Spermatic cord is the structure the individual feel outside with vas deferens inside. Swelling of the epididymis is due to the bacterial infection. Testicles may also be infected. Pain in the scrotum, discharge from the penis are the symptoms of infection. Antibiotics are prescribed for the infections. If you are very much concerned that you have some abnormality, visit a surgeon and check for abnormality.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
