Is Esophageal Tightness And Hoarse Voice Normal After Gastroscopy?

I had a gastroscopy on Monday, felt fine on Monday and Tuesday thought still a bit drowsy, then Wednesday felt a tightness in my oesophagus and my voice was a little strange - both as though my gullet had been bruised, it s now Saturday - is it normal to still be experiencing some discomfort 5 days later?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Some amount of bruising can be expected and as any wound takes time to heal, this can too. Nothing to worry about, continue with sips of warm water through the day and some honey mixed in the warm water as well. I am sure you will fell perfectly fine very soon.

Take care.
