Is Excessive Sleepiness Normal While On Hydrochlorothiazide And Cymbalta?
My husband has been taking 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure for years. Thursday he started 30 mg of Cymbalta for depression. He has been very groggy and sleeps almost continually since the first dose. He takes no other prescriptions or OTC meds. He is 69, 5 10 and weighs 295. Reply to YYYY@YYYY . Thank you!

Yes, Symbalta is known to cause sleepiness /drowsiness as side effect. Your husband seems to need adjustment in dosage/drug. Please consult the treating doctor.
