Is Exercising A Good Option While Suffering From Mitral Prolapse Regurgitation Or Does It Affect Heart Rate?
Hey I have Mitro prolapse regurgitation I m only 46. I do have heart problems in my family. The doctors tell me that working out is good for me. But I feel if my heart is leaking pumping iron would make it worse. Its been over a year since my last stress test. I feel the symptoms have gotten worse. Thursday I work out lightly first time in 2 months with no problems. Today I started to work out and did not even get into it good when I felt my heart fluttering and skipping beats. Its scares me. I love working out. I stopped and went back to work . My heart rate is still up around 90 and I m sitting at a desk. And its been 6 hours ago. The doctor thinks that I have anxiety and I should not worry. But when these feelings flare up it does scare me. I have had ringing in the ears and light headedness of and on. When I walk across my parking lot here at work sometimes I feel a tightening and I feel I need to slow down. Does this sound like I m crazy? Should I still try to work out? When should I go to the doctor? before it gets worse.
Yes exercising is a good option for cardiac patient even after heart attacks. In your case you just have regurgitation of mitral valve which isn't a high risk cardiac condition.
You should consult with a psychologist to help you to deal with the stress of being very ill.
Hope it answered to your query!
