Is Experiencing Cramps In Leg For Three Days After Hurting While Playing Basketball, A Matter Of Concern?

I had a nasty leg cramp yesterday while I went up for a shot while playing basketball, it had me laying on the ground screaming in pain. That happened yesterday and it is now 36 hours later and still hurts pretty bad. Why is that? Is it something other than a cramp?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The cramps in the muscle after being hit in the area is a normal finding. You can do a hot fomentation and take an oral muscle relaxant for relief. This is not a worrisome finding.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
