Is Extra Dosage Of Metoprolol Advisable For Episodes Of Atrial Fibrillation?
Good day, I had a pulmonary vein ablation two weeks ago. My 3rd one. For AF. I have been having bouts of AF which I was able to calm with low dosage of metoprolol sinxe ablation. But approx 18 hours ago I went from an episode of Af to a steady but rapid heart rate of 120 beats per minute. I have taken approx 75mg of metoprolol over this 18 hour period to no effect. Just wondering how dangerous this is for me, whether or not I should take more metoprolol in an attempt to slow it down and how long I should let it go before seeking medical attention?
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic Regarding your repeated episode of Atrial fibrillation following an attempt to use excess dose of metoprolol I believe you should schedule an appointment with a cardiologist specialist for further noninvasive investigations as well as adequate clinical Evaluation and appropriate drug prescription
Moreover please don't take the metoprolol on self medication as this will have devastating consequences
I hope this helps Regards
