Is Extreme Breathlessness Upon Physical Strain Suggestive Of Recurring Asthma?
Hello ! I went dancing the other night for the first time in years. And i noticed once i was done with doing one of the faster dances i was having trouble breathing. It wasnt just temporary either it went on into the night for hours. I was wheezing really bad with it as well. It was almost like it was hurting to breath in. I had Asthma as a small child. Could that be coming back?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Dyspnea after exertion and wheezing sound can be from asthma. In your case because you have positive asthma history, you should consult pulmonologoist for following work up:
-CBC -Auscultation -Spirometry to assess severity and decide management plan - If spirometry is not done than pulmonologoist will estimate your peak flow using peak flow meter
If CBC shows high eosinophila esp. AEC more than 450, you will need Allegra LC course.
For asthma you might be prescribed foracort like inhaler. Take one tsp turmeric powder with milk daily. Estimate your HB level also. If anemia is present correct that accordingly.
Hope your concern solved. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
