Is Extreme Elevation In BP Levels A Cause For Concern?
I was at doctor yesterday and blood pressure was 162 over 80 or 90 something. I ve been off my BP meds due to financial issues but now have Medicaid. The doc was filling in for regular doctor and had blood work done. I m not sure if you plans to call in BP meds today or not but she prescribed prednisone for my allergy and sinus issues that they had worked me in to treat. I had to go to Walmart last night and had a headache so I checked to see if BP had gone down but it was 200 over 99. I sat a minute and tried it a few more times and it went down to 196 over 91. Should I wait for doctors office to open in about 2.5 hours, go back to Walmart and check again, or go to ER?

Is Extreme Elevation In BP Levels A Cause For Concern?
Hello, So should immediately go to the ER. Antihypertensive medicines would be given and an EKG and echo would be procured. Such high levels of BP would expose you to an increased risk of heart failure, kidney failure, heart attack, vision disturbances, stroke, and brain hemorrhage. Take your medicines without fail, have a salt-restricted diet, avoid fatty, greasy and junk food, refrain from smoking, don t be sleep deprived and manage your stress.
