Is Extreme Swelling In Calf Post A Fall On Knee A Cause For Concern?

I dove for a softball thus weekend and slammed my right knee on the turf. Obviously, it immediately hurt. I iced it between games and was capable of continuing to play. It s bruised sore and swollen. My concern is that now my calf is extremely swollen. No mobility issue other than soreness. Any advice or concerns?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It might be contusion or hematoma which is common after a blunt trauma. As of now you can apply icepacks for faster recovery. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
