Is Eye Twitching A Side Effect Of Concerta Prescribed For ADHD?

my son takes Concerta (36mg) for his ADHD every morning. He has been taking this dosage for about three months and within the last three weeks has developed an eye twitch as well as rolling of his eyes. Is this a side effect of this medication or something more serious? Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Suggestive of side effects of concerta. Based on the history your son seems to have developed tremors (twitching of the eyes) and dyskinesias (abnormal movements like rolling of the eyes). You should consult his treating doctor for dose reduction of concerta or an alternate effective but a safer medication to treat ADHD.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
