Is Fat Grafting Advisable For Crater Deformity Of Nipple?

I had a gynecomastia surgery 2 weeks ago and I have a small crater deformity of my left nipple which is a bit sunk in. My doctor told me to buy 2 types of ointments and massage with them. Do you think that in time will the crater deformity solve by itself or is fat grafting the only viable option?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the crater deformity of nipple is transient presentation post surgery of Gynecomastia in many cases.

* The final result of healing is usually obtained at a period of 6 weeks from the surgery and hence it can not be considered established deformity at this stage.

* Should opt for ointment and massage therapy as told by your surgeon for next 4 weeks and be remain in regular follow up with him.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
