Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Feeling Of Discomfort In Chest During Tension And Pressure A Cause For Concern?
When I have pressure, tension at work, I feel discomfort in my chest. No radiating pain, no nausea. This has been going on for around a month and a half. I am not scheduled to see my family Dr. until next Friday. I have a baseball game scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday of this week. I have been exercising to get in shape.
Have you the same symptoms when you have exercises, when you walk up the stairs? Sometimes discomfort around the heart means a non-optimal supply of the heart with blood and oxygen. During stress and exercises this happens more often because the pulse and the work of the heart increases and it needs more blood and oxygen.
So to check if everything is alright with your heart you have to do some tests: - Complete blood count - Blood sugar and lipids - Thyroid hormones - ECG - Stress test - Cardiac ultrasound
-CONSULT A CARDIOLOGIST
If anything is found your doctor may ask you further examinations.
Take care and all the best for you! DR ERIOL.
