General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The fetal heart rate can be seen on ultrasound as early as 5 weeks 1 days of the pregnancy, and usually detected by 6 weeks.
Normally, embryos start heart rate at about 85 beats per minute and it then increases from 110 to 175 beats per minutes (bpm). Later the heart rate stabilizes around 120-160 beats per minute during the pregnancy.
Hence heart rate of 173 at 8 weeks of pregnancy can be considered as normal.
Kindly take the medication as prescribed. Eat healthy food and improve your intake of fluids. Take adequate rest. Do the necessary follow-up as scheduled.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
