Is Fever Due To Raised Yellow Spots On The Tonsils?

My 8 year old grandson had a temp of 100.9 at 8 this morning. At noon it had gone down on its own to 99.9 but was back up to 101.4 at 4 pm. I gave him one Tylenol 325 mg. Checking his throat there are several raised, yellow spots on his tonsils. He denies any pain.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It looks like your grandson has a throat Infection leading to yellow spots and fever..

Consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..

A throat swab culture can be done for confirmation..

For now continue giving Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen combination..
Make him do warm saline gargles..
Give soft diet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..

The Physician can advise him to take antibiotics to resolve the Infection and as the Infection subsides the fever will also resolve..

Hope this helps .

Regards..
