Hi my 8month old son fell off the couch on July 1st and he seemed fine after the fall but the next day and the 2 day after the fall he developed a fever, would the fall have anything to do with his fever he has now and should i take him to the emergency room? Thank you so much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Fever does not necessarily signal a serious illness. If the baby's behavior is normal, doesn't have vomiting are likely to be OK.

However, if your baby has a fever higher than 100.4°F when taken rectally is better to consult with a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
