Is Fever With Stuffed Nose, Cough And Sleepiness In A Toddler A Cause For Concern?
My 3 year old daughter had a fever of about 100 degrees for 4 nights, with a runny nose. Yesterday the fever was gone and her nose got stuffed up and a cough started. Today she has a fever of about 101 and she has slept for most of the day. Her lips are stating to dry out and she hasn t eaten. She is drinking fluids. She is having normal bowl movements and no vomiting. Just the fever stuffed nose cough and sleeping all day. Should I be worried?
I don’t think this is an emergency. The fact that she eat well means that she is in a viral situation. However if the passing of the sleeping continues you should contact her pediatrician an for further follow up if needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
